Можно слышать, что процессы инволюции, затухания тоже относятся к развитию. Мне представляется, что в данном случае речь идет об изменении функций человека, которое, как известно, может идти как по восходящей (развитие), так и по нисходящей (инволюция) траектории. В Словаре С. И. Ожегова развитие определяется следующим образом: «Процесс перехода из одного состояния в другое, более совершенное <���…> от простого к сложному, от низшего к высшему» (выделено мной. – Е. И. ).

К сожалению, имеющиеся в литературе сведения отрывочные, что не дает возможности составить полное представление о личностных особенностях взрослых.

В. В. Хороших (1997) понимает самопрезентацию как процесс регуляции впечатления, которое производит субъект, с учетом специфики социальной ситуации и образа Я. В. Н. Куницына (2000) определяет самопрезентацию как кратковременный специфически мотивированный и организованный процесс предъявления в вербальном и невербальном поведении информации о себе.
