Уинстон Леонард Спенсер Черчилль – фигура мирового масштаба. Впервые избранный в парламент в 1900 году, он фактически определял политику Великобритании вплоть до середины XX века. Этому человеку было, что рассказать своим современникам и их потомкам – вот почему он стал автором многотомных исторических трудов. В 1953 г. за «высокое мастерство произведений исторического и биографического характера, а также за блестящее ораторское искусство, с помощью которого отстаивались высшие человеческие ценности» он был удостоен Нобелевской премии по литературе. …Но прежде всего Черчилль был блестящим менеджером, умевшим организовать и свою собственную работу, и работу своих подчиненных. Без этого умения не было бы ни Черчилля-политика, ни Черчилля-писателя, ни Черчилля-человека, сказавшего однажды британцам: «Мне нечего предложить вам, кроме крови, труда, пота и слез…», ибо иного пути к победе, в чем бы она ни заключалась, нет.
