Рональд Дэвид Лэйнг (1927–1989) – один из самых известных деятелей эпохи 1960-х гг. и самый популярный психиатр столетия после 3. Фрейда и К. Г. Юнга. Его взгляд на природу безумия и революционная деятельность навсегда изменили облик психиатрии, его книги, выходившие миллионными тиражами и переведенные более чем на двадцать языков, читаются, словно романы и манифесты, а его яркая индивидуальность до сих пор вызывает споры в среде биографов и критиков. Первая русскоязычная биография Лэйнга, построенная на оригинальных источниках, воссоздает канву его жизни и творчества, основные идеи его работ и проектов, представляя его фигуру в единстве множества образов – психиатра и антипсихиатра, философа и социального критика, гуру и революционера.
