Приводятся основные положения учения о психологическом стрессе (понятия, история, теории и модели, методология изучения стресса), особенности его развития (причины возникновения и показатели проявления, механизмы регуляции), характер взаимосвязи стресса и адаптации. Излагается концептуальный подход к изучению преодоления стресса, психологическое содержание процессов преодоления, его моделях, ресурсах, стратегиях и стилях, личностной детерминации. Проводится анализ путей, методов и средств преодоления стресса – его индивидуальной и коллективной профилактики и коррекции (психической саморегуляции и экстернальной терапии).
