Глава 9. Фармацевтические соединения-канцерогены и антиканцерогены
1. Медицинские препараты, стимулирующие развитие рака
Медицинские препараты, используемые для контроля симптомов заболевания или лечения, способны создавать нежелательный эффект, который порой проявляется в возможности стимулировать развитие ракового процесса. Гормональные препараты, включающие оральные контрацептивы, гормоно-замещающую терапию и антиэстроген Тамоксифен, могут давать именно такой эффект.
Другие препараты, используемые для лечения раковой опухоли, способны вызывать так называемые вторичные злокачественные заболевания, посредством влияния на генетический материал пациента. Естественно, незамедлительная польза в использовании подобных лекарств значительно перевешивает долгосрочный риск возникновения побочных эффектов, даже в виде развития другого ракового заболевания, поэтому они повсеместно используются в терапии онкологических заболеваний.
Препараты – иммуносупрессоры, вызывающие блокирование нормальной функции иммунной защиты организма, также способны стимулировать развитие онкологических процессов.
