В работе финской исследовательницы Кирсти Эконен рассматривается творчество пяти авторов-женщин символистского периода русской литературы: Зинаиды Гиппиус, Людмилы Вилькиной, Поликсены Соловьевой, Нины Петровской, Лидии Зиновьевой-Аннибал. В центре внимания — осмысление ими роли и места женщины-автора в символистской эстетике, различные пути преодоления господствующего маскулинного эстетического дискурса и способы конструирования собственного авторства.
