Послесловие
Послесловие по большей части написано на основе трех пятичасовых интервью с Линдой Маузер, Бобом Керноу и Валин Шнур, а также на телефонных разговорах с ними, обменах электронными письмами и других контактах как с ними, так и с людьми, которые к ним близки. Каждый из троих был чрезвычайно откровенен, и я признателен им за их великодушие и честность.
Линда Маузер вела подробные записи и на следующий день после встречи с Харрисами написала трехстраничное эссе, на несколько минут выложила его в своем блоге в интернете, но затем удалила. Она поделилась эссе со мной, и оно оказало неоценимую помощь. Дополнительные источники, использованные в данном послесловии, включали в себя блог Линды, статью Сью Клиболд в O, The Oprah Magazine (она называлась «Я никогда не узнаю, почему») и интервью с другими людьми, близкими к Клиболдам.
В этих трех рассказах отражены впечатления, наблюдения и мысли Линды, Боба и Валин, и я рассматриваю их как исповедь о том, как пострадавшие справлялись с горем от утраты близких – это отнюдь не представляет собой объективный взгляд всех причастных сторон.
