Страшно постаревший, располневший от дешевой еды, Уайльд будет скитаться по отелям, запивая тоску абсентом и досаждая друзьям просьбами о деньгах. Он увидит, как уходят из жизни те, кого он любил и ненавидел. В 1898 году закончатся земные страдания его жены Констанс, которая всегда старалась помогать мужу, хотя и не смогла принять его странности.
