Перевод и научная редакция Гюнтер Аммон, известный немецкий психиатр и психотерапевт, предлагает книгу «Динамическая психиатрия», выдержавшую в Германии два издания. Динамическая психиатрия дает ядро понимания психических заболеваний и соответствующих возможностей терапии в семейной группе, в актуальной жизненной ситуации, в ситуации диагностического обследования. Врач должен не только поставить диагноз, но и подробно обосновать его. С точки зрения динамической психиатрии рассматриваются проблемы шизофрении, депрессии, пограничной психиатрии, психосоматики и др. В книге исследуется психоаналитическая групповая психотерапия, даны статистические данные, предложен ряд реформ в преобразовании психиатрии.
Книга предназначена для врачей-психиатров и медицинских психологов, имеющих подготовку в области теории и практики психоанализа (или знакомых с психоаналитической терминологией).
Для облегчения восприятия текста книги Г. Аммона в конце публикуется глоссарий его сотрудника Э. Фабиана.

Предисловие
Настоящий глоссарий я составил по поводу 10-го мирового конгресса Динамической психиатрии в Санкт-Петербурге в октябре 1994 г., являющегося первым таким конгрессом, состоявшимся в России. Цель глоссария познакомить широкий круг русско- и англоязычных читателей и заинтересованных лиц с основным словарем Динамической психиатрии.
С первого дня прикосновения к учению Гюнтера Аммона я всегда заново обнаруживал, что — не в последнюю очередь благодаря ясной и простой речи, которой он пользуется, — его мысли доступны. Понятность его речи также отражает его глубокую научную ценность. Он презирает интеллектуализирующую смутность в стиле, порождающую ненужную дистанцию и тем самым служащую духовным «белым халатом». Он понимает функцию терапевта как первого слуги больного.
Концепция Берлинской школы Динамической психиатрии во всех своих высказываниях по поводу здоровья и болезни основывается на эксплицитном образе человека как внутренне свободного, способного к контакту и развитию, живущего в группах и носящего в этическом и политическом отношении ответственность существа. Интегрированная психодинамическая и терапевтическая концепция Аммона по отношению к психическому заболеванию является результатом десятилетнего терапевтического контакта с больными людьми и не представляет собой плод теоретизирующей спекуляции из-за письменного стола.
