Meals

Официант может вас называть “sir” или “madam”, не называя фамилии. Также обращаются в магазинах или при оказании прочих услуг. Если вы исполнены уважения, то тоже можете употребить “sir”, когда обращаетесь к пожилому человеку.

Сервировка стола зависит от конкретной страны. Часто в англоязычных странах слева ставят маленькую тарелочку, чтобы класть туда хлеб (только не на стол!). Возможно, вам предложат несколько приборов — в таком случае начинайте с ближних и затем переходите к дальним.

В англоязычных странах не всегда подают хлеб во время еды. Его обычно подают на завтрак или в бутербродах.
